Once you have installed the 3Dconnexion driver, it’s essential to enable the 3Dconnexion extensions, such as 3Dconnexion Helper, to ensure proper functionality.
If the extension is not enabled, you may encounter issues with your SpaceMouse. For example, navigation may not work, and moving the SpaceMouse cap might cause the cursor to move instead.
To activate the extension, please follow the instructions below:
For macOS 15 (Sequoia) or Newer:
- After installation is complete, you will see a prompt with instructions on enabling the extension.
- Open System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions.
- Click the “i” icon next to Driver Extensions.
- In the new panel, activate the 3DconnexionHelper extension.
For macOS 14 (Sonoma) or Earlier:
-
After installation is complete, you will see two prompts with information about an extension requiring to be enabled. A system information “System Extension Blocked” with a house icon and a more detailed panel overlayed of “3D Mouse Home”.
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
- Scroll down to find the message: “System software from the application ‘3DconnexionHelper’ was blocked from loading.”
- Click the Allow button.
